Vodafone - The Worst Mobile Services Provider in Delhi (Especially Dwarka Sector 12 Vodafone Store)

Vodafone commercials says - Happy to help. But I think they are just happy to help themselves only instead of making the customer or client happy.

I am using Vodafone postpaid services since a long time now (years), when it was actually named as Hutch. You can say a valuable customer for Vodafone. But it would say Valuable only if they value me.

My current experience with the VODAFONE (Vodafone Store Below Ayushman Hospital Dwarka)-
Before of some unpleasant and threat messages (SMS), I decided to quit my current number i.e. 99999***78 and go with a new fresh number. On Saturday morning (12 March, 2011), I went to buy a number for me at Vodafone Dwarka Store that is below Ayushman Hospital in Dwarka Sector 12.

There were already so many people sitting in queue with their token numbers waiting for their calls by Vodafone executives. One of their executive came to me and asking for my query, I told him that I want to quit my current Vodafone number because of some unpleasant circumstances and want to buy a fresh new postpaid number.

He showed me many Vodafone numbers which are of different number series. I decided to go with the premium number that ends with 007. It costs me Rs.3100 with the security charges of Rs.250 that has to be paid instantly to buy the numbers. There is no discount in that.

I paid all the money instantly through my Credit card. He said, your number will be activated within 2 hours and you can avail the services (prepaid) for 24 hours and after the verification with 24-48 hours, you can get all the postpaid services.

I got the verification calls twice saying that your number will be converted into postpaid services within 24 hours.

On 15th March, my prepaid services are dis-activated, I thought its time to go to the Vodafone Settings and click on the postpaid to activate it into Postpaid services. But there is no outcome. Now, the situation is - I have no prepaid and no postpaid services for my number.

Today on 16th March, 2011 (which is approx. 120 hours now); I again visited Vodafone Store Dwarka Sector 12 and asked them why my number is yet not activated and even the call outgoings and incomings has been disabled. Now, the executive said, Sir because you have switched off your previous no. your verification is still pending. I said OMG! I got the verification calls and still your verification pending? He has no answer with giving me silly excuses.

Then, he introduced me with there Store Manager. He gives me the same excuse. I said him before buying this premium postpaid number, it has been already discussed with your executive that because of threat messages, I am stopping the services for my current number and want to buy a new fresh one.

Now, he is saying to me that they have to do the verification process again and again it require 48 hours to activate this number.

Now, if this is a help, Vodafone should think 100 times before publishing these advertisements i.e. Happy to Help. They are just fooling the innocent people.

And I am Still chasing...Truly Unsatisfied.

I will say Big No to Vodafone Services, especially with the Vodafone Store Dwarka Sector 12, New Delhi.

I can understand, Google guys are always busy in doing R&D in making Google more better but what about the our feedback on the issues which we got on Google search results.

The Telegraph recently interviewed Amit Singhal, Ranking Team Head at Google which is the routine task for every Tuesday and Thursday where Google Search engineers meet to talk about the algorithm changes and updates.

In the words of Amit Singhal, Google is “the biggest kingmaker on this Earth”.

He says “We deal with those responsibilities by having very concrete principles, all rankings are decided algorithmically, and the focus is on user benefit, not advertiser or commercial benefit. Now, I like to ask here - Why this egoism?

Google has made its search box larger than before. Google Marissa Mayer, Vice President, Search Products & User Experience just announced this last night that the search box's size was increased.

He added. "Although this is a very simple idea and an even simpler change, we're excited about it — because it symbolizes our focus on search and because it makes our clean, minimalist homepage even easier and more fun to use. The new, larger Google search box features larger text when you type so you can see your query more clearly. The internet truly shrunk the world, being the harbinger of an information evolution. This mode of connectivity was born at the University of California 40 years ago last week. And when was the first time it was attacked? In 1988, by 'Morris', one of the first internet worms which are the common thing in the web world now. Microsoft join hands with Yahoo!

After long-drawn speculations, Yahoo! and Microsoft have come together to forge a formidable alliance in Internet search and advertising space that will challenge the dominance of market leader Google.

The ten-year agreement would see both the companies coming together in the search arena and sales activities related to search advertising.

"In simple terms, Microsoft will now power Yahoo! search while Yahoo! will become the exclusive worldwide relationship sales force for both companies' premium search advertisers," the two firms said in a statement.

As part of the deal, Microsoft would acquire an exclusive ten-year licence to Yahoo!'s core search technologies.

This would also allow the software giant to integrate Yahoo!'s search technologies into its existing platforms including Bing, Microsoft's newly launched search engine.

Yahoo! would be compensated by Microsoft through a revenue sharing agreement on traffic generated on Yahoo!'s network of both owned and operated and affiliate sites.

"Microsoft will pay traffic acquisition costs (TAC) to Yahoo! at an initial rate of 88 percent of search revenue generated on Yahoo!'s O&O sites during the first five years of the agreement," the statement noted.

Google has more than 60 per cent share in the search market. Since early 2008, Microsoft had been pursuing an alliance with Yahoo! and even came up with over USD 44 billion takeover plan, which did not materialise.

Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer said the agreement would provide Microsoft's search engine, Bing, the scale necessary to more effectively compete, attracting more users and advertisers.

Asserting that the partnership would provide a "viable alternative to advertisers," the statement said they would no longer have to rely on one company that dominates more than 70 per cent of all search.

Once the agreement is fully implemented, Yahoo! Expects that it would provide a benefit to annual GAAP operating income of about USD 500 million and capital expenditure savings of about USD 200 million.

Yahoo! anticipates that the pact would also result in a benefit to annual operating cash flow of nearly USD 275 million.

"This deal fits the long-term strategic direction of Yahoo! to remain the world's leading online media company and Carol Bartz has the full and unanimous support of the Yahoo! Board behind this deal," said Yahoo! Chairman Roy Bostock said.

India's got the longest solar eclipse of the century on Wednesday morning 22nd July, 2009 at a local sunrise point in the Arabian Sea close to the western coast of India near Surat in Gujarat.

Thousands of people, children and adults, thronged the sky watching sites across the country with their solar goggles to watch the eclipse. In India, the totality phase lasted for some 3 minutes 30 seconds and places like Surat in Gujarat, Indore and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and Patna and Taregna in Bihar observed the total solar eclipse that occurred between 6:20 a.m. to 6:25 a.m.

But there are too many myths are also attached along with every eclipse in India yet like pregnant women were advised to stay indoors in curtained rooms over a belief that the sun's invisible rays would harm the fetus and the baby would be born with disfigurations, birthmarks or a congenital defect.

SEO Optimization means promotion of a site through different methods including submissions in web directories, article submissions, press releases, internal linking management i.e. link building development of the site to get popularity in the web and to get more traffic for the site.

In this very regard, most of the time of SEO spend in building links that's basically SEO is all about even. And which is just not so easy. Building links can be easy but building good links are not an easy task for any link builder or SEO.

WE have to take care of -

Relevancy of the web page where we are submitting our site.
PageRank of the web page where we are placing our site link. It would be great if we got high PR than our site.
Indexing of the site - It should be regularly indexed by major search engines like Google, Yahoo! Search and Bing.

Microsoft Live Search is now Bing.com has released on 3rd June, 2009.

Bing includes a set of navigation and search tools called an Explorer Pane on the left side of the page that offers a feature called Web Groups, which organizes search results not only in the pane but also in the actual results generated on the page. It is based on the semantic technology from PowerSet which Microsoft purchased in 2008.

Microsoft also has added Related Searches and Quick Tabs features, which provide a table of contents for different categories of search results.

Next feature called Best Match surfaces what the engine considers the best result for a search query and calls it out for the user. Another feature called Deep Links gives people more insight into what resources a site offers.

Bing also offers what is called Quick Preview, which gives a brief preview of search results in a box that appears when someone 'mouses' over the search results link. The preview gives a snapshot of the information the link provides so people can decide whether they want to click on it.

Answer : It totally depend either they really are quality links or not. The page you have linked with having some traffic or not? and the relevancy factor ofcourse. The links you are linked with are relevant with your online business theme otherwise it's just useless to link with non-relevant sites.

As per google webmaster guidelines also, Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or "bad neighborhoods" on the web, as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links.

NEW YORK, Tim Armstrong, Google's president, advertising and commerce, North America and long time face of Google's ad business is soon going to adopt a new role of AOL’s chief executive.

Armstrong has been named the new chairman and CEO of AOL. Current chairman and CEO Randy Falco and president, COO Ron Grant are both on their way out.

This has fueled the rumors regarding the separation of AOL from the parent Time Warner Inc. The idea of an independent AOL has been supported by Google also for some time now.

AOL was almost dead...may be Tim will save it now.

Google to Show Behavioral Ads Soon

Google announced that they will start showing ads based on the sites we visit, searches we make etc. They will start that in a few weeks.

It has launched a system that will serve up ads to web users based on their previous online activities. The search giant is offering users the chance to see and edit their profiles and it will also offer them the choice to opt out of the service. If users like swimming they will get ads about swimming (what about adult thoughts??)

But privacy campaigners are outraged by the move, with Privacy International calling for a parliamentary enquiry.

Today with the help of some of my friends and members in the Webmaster forum WebCosmoForum, I have finally removed the blogger's bar which usually appears in the top of the free blogger (blogspot) blog.

Now, You can also rid of this blogger bar come across on the top of your blog, just follow these steps -
1. Log in to blogger account,

2. Then, go to your Dashboard, select Layout option. This will take you to the Template tab. Click Edit HTML. Under the Edit Template section you will see you blog's HTML.

3. paste this following CSS definition in the top of the template code:

}

And that's all, it will not show to your blog then.

Google trying ads in Google Suggestion

Google has begun testing adwords ads in the Google search suggestions i.e. suggestion you got after typing something in the search column at Google homepage.

Danny Sullivan notes at Search Engine Land that some users are spotting Google AdWords ads within Search Suggest. I also tried to check something like that, but not getting any ads in the search suggestions but one thing for sure, its probably going to be the most expensive place to get ads there.

Will it be effective to get ads there? I don't think if any advertiser would like to get ads there in the google suggestion; most of the clicks would be unnecessary / accidental clicks.

Google on Tuesday announced a dashboard to detail system status for the Google App Engine.

Google always excited us through making more updates and new features on their sites, product and services. On the Google App Engine blog, the company said that it has launched the App Engine system status site and a quota dashboard to detail items like bandwidth usage and CPU.

The new System Status Site provides a detailed view into the performance of various App Engine components using some of the same raw monitoring data that our engineering team uses internally. This includes:
* up-to-the-minute overview of our system status with real-time, unedited data
* daily overall serving status for each of our APIs, including any outages or downtime
* detailed historical latency and error-rate graphs for the App Engine Datastore, Images, Mail, Memcache, Serving, URL Fetch, and Users components

Quota Details Dashboard
This makes it easier to track how much of the free quota your app is using up across bandwidth, CPU, etc. Use it to get detailed information about all of the resource quotas that affect your application.

Google said it also plans a billing dashboard to preview what happens if you go beyond those quotas.

Finally, I got listing on the 1st page for this SEO blog for the keyword "SEO Service Provider" and on 2nd page with "SEO Services Provider" in Google.

It was not that hard struggle but yeah! it takes time to come up with this too. One day, I was searching for related terms for the keyword "SEO Service", and got more keyword suggestions on Google homepage in which SEO Service Provider was also there. It's relevant with my blog. So, I decided to pick this keywords as a target keyword for my blog for getting search listing in Google.com. Even, it's still there in the Google suggestion if you type 'SEO service' in Google homepage search bar.

And look what, just have checked that also got listing within the first 5 search results with the keyword "SEO provider" in Google having the competition of 12,200,000 search results.

Now, My target keywords for 2009 is SEO Service / SEO Services.

According to Google’s India Zeitgeist, social networking site Orkut is the most searched keyword in the country and Bollywood charming actress Katrina Kaif is the most searched person online in India.

“Different people find different things to do on the Web, so these lists are a good representation of the unique ways in which users mine the Internet,” said Vinay Goel, Head of Products, Google India.

Following Orkut in the ‘Most Popular Searches’ category; ‘Gmail’ and ‘Yahoo’ have taken the second and third position whereas ‘Indian railways’ got the 7th position whose official site was also the most popular government portal in the year.

"Given the popularity of mobiles, we also looked at what was searched for while on the move," Vinay Goel said. The country can’t seem to get enough of social networking, it seems, as Orkut was the most searched term in this category too.

In addition, the report also looked at the top 10 fastest rising keywords in India, by comparing 2008’s searches with their popularity in the previous year. Video-sharing site ‘Youtube’ won this title, followed by Orkut and Katrina Kaif.

In the list of most popular Bollywood celebrities, Katrina Kaif was followed by Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan. And Jodhaa Akbar edged out Dasavatharam and Singh Is King as the most searched movie.

In other categories, tennis star Sania Mirza outplayed cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and footballer Cristiano Ronaldo; while Mahatma Gandhi was the most searched politician, ahead of Raj Thackrey and US Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

I have been discussing about spicing up the Gmail account by themes in WebCosmo Forums from yesterday as members keep saying about getting new themes in their Gmail account. I was curious to see the update in my Gmail account, and today I got this colorful customization.

These themes allows you to customize the look and feel of your Gmail account. To choose a theme, you just need to click on theme thumbnail on the Themes tab of your Settings page. You can also asked to fill your location (city) after choosing a theme as some themes changes during the day (changes with your local sunrise, sunset, and/or weather).

So, it's no more to tired out of the blue on white simple Gmail way. You can customize your Gmail anytime by choosing any theme; just need to go to Settings > Themes.

Google can read text from images

Google has recently announced in their official blog that they are now using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to index and show an HTML version of a scanned PDF document.

In the past, Google only showed an HTML version of PDF's created with text enabled formatting. But from now, if a document is scanned as an image, Google can also read it and create an HTML version for it (click “View As HTML” in the search results).

India retains world chess title

Viswanathan Anand of India retained his world chess title Wednesday by drawing with the white pieces against Russian challenger Vladimir Kramnik in the World Championship final in Bonn, Germany.

I'm happy. But, at this point, probably more relieved than happy, because I was undisputed World champion even before this match," Anand said after asserting his supremacy in Bonn, a year after he became World champion in Mexico.

"Obviously, it's really nice to just have the title. Vlady was really pushing me in the last few games. With White I was really hoping to have the World Championship title in the evening but I wasn't sure, you never know," he added.

Kramnik said black's seemingly anti-positional move was his only chance. "So I decided to mess things up", but Anand calculated very well and forced such position in the end game that white simply could not lose.

"Miracles happen, but very rare, unfortunately," Kramnik said.

The Yahoo! search blog announced index update on 14th Oct, 2008 as a "Weather Report" with the Yahoo! Site Explorer New Look information they just have done earlier in Aug 2008.

We'll be rolling out some changes to our crawling, indexing and ranking algorithms over the next few days and expect the update will be completed soon. As you know, throughout this process you may see some ranking changes and page shuffling in the index.

I am seeing some changes but not much for my sites' SERPs in Yahoo! Search.

Well, it's a bit surprising for me - it's too early to get an update on Google PageRank. My this blog hasn't got any PR update...I have to wait for next update now.. Never mind!
